Journalism without Borders was created and is administered by professional working journalists who pay for its administration and running costs from their own pockets. All the articles published here are accepted along the lines of our terms and conditions.

The journalismwithoutborders.com consists of an editorial team that has total control over the editorial content and nothing to do with the money – and the registered Austrian charity Helfen Wir (We Help) that has control of the money but cannot influence the editorial side at all. It means that Helfen Wir (We Help) has no control or influence over what articles are selected or how they are presented, which is carried out independently by the journalismwithoutborders.com team. Likewise the editorial team is aware of where the donations are going but never has any access to or accepts any of the funds that are donated. The two organisations operate in tandem to independently administer their respective roles.

Helfen Wir (We Help) is an officially registered charity based in Vienna, Austria, which fulfils all the requirements of European law. Its status can be checked at any time by contacting your local Austrian Embassy.

journalismwithoutborders.com and Helfen Wir (We Help) guarantee that 90 percent of the total amount which we receive will end up at the destination specified.

After extensive discussions it was agreed that an automatic amount of 10 percent is deducted from every donation and is used by Helfen Wir (We Help) for the costs of administration. Helfen Wir (We Help) guarantee that no more than 10 percent will be deducted for administration and if the costs are less than 10 percent, then any money left over will be spent on their own charity projects - examples of which can be seen on their webpage.

An audited set of accounts can be made available on request to Helfen Wir (We Help). In some cases a charge may be made depending on the request for the administrative work involved in providing the accounts.
